Stern Judgement?
It's just another development in what is turning out to be one of the most exciting NBA playoffs in years. It started with the reckless style of the Golden State Warriors chopping down the Western Conference Champs and playoff favorite Dallas Mavericks. It's continued with Derek Fisher flying across the country from New York City where his young daughter was having life altering surgery and giving his team a charge to victory. And now the country is fixated on the Suns vs Spurs series where Amare Stoudemire has called out Bruce Bowen (who hasn't) and the Spurs for being dirty. And just like he always seems to do "Big Shot" Rob, Robert Horry, connected on a shot that will change the entire playoffs. Only this time it didn't come from his right hand holding the pose as he connected with the shot but it came from his left forearm as he leveled Phoenix point guard and leader, Steve Nash, into the scorers table. As a result Horry will miss both game 5 and 6, and the Suns will lose key players Boris Diaw and Amare Stoudemire because in the words of NBA Executive Vice President Stu Jackson "they left the immediate vicinity of the bench".

The Real NBA Finals Commercials.
You've all seen them. Dirk and McGrady doing the short little commercials where they're acting like little kids that are counting down the last 10 seconds of the game with them pulling out a win. But as it turns out those were not the first takes and we here at Ag Sports Daily came across the first takes of these commercials. It seems that the director told the players to just go with it like they normally would in a game and this is what happened.

Howdy from Cajun Country
Well I've traveled into the heart of Cajun country this weekend to see my friends that have moved out here to work at LSU. I've learned a couple of interesting things out here. First, I learned how to eat a crawfish with one hand nearly doubling my crawfish intake per minute time. And second, LSU football tickets are freakin cheap! Some of my friends students came over and we watched the De La Hoya v Mayweather fight (which turned out to kinda suck)and we got to talking college football. These guys were pretty knowledgeable and one had been to the '04 ou game and said that was a game atmosphere he had never seen. So they quickly earned my respect.

It's Draft Day!
Well the most exciting day in Pro Football is here. It's draft day baby. Will we get to see some last minute trades? Did the Minnesota Vikings hire someone that can tell time? Will the Detroit Lions take another WR in the first round? All of these things will unfold today. I think the thing I'm looking forward to most today is what Al Davis will say after they make their pick. The guy is like the crazy old grandpa that everyone is embarrassed of but he's also the grandpa with all the money and no one is going to stand up to him. So for all we know he might be drafting a center to start the draft off and then comment how he saw his grandpa play in the 1942 Pac 10 championship and how ferocious he was and he just knew he had to have him. If I was Jamarcus Russell I'd be honored to go first but I'd be scared to death to go to that damn place. A few notes coming out of the pre-draft stuff right now is the Raiders are definitely going Jamarcus Russell unless they move Randy Moss. The Raiders turned down a deal to move Moss to the Patriots but you can't be too picky about a guy that you don't want and he doesn't want to be there. Also the Lions are going to take Johnson and the Browns Joe Thomas who chose to go fishing rather than attend the draft. That pushes pretty boy and junior politician Brady Quinn further down the line. I guess let's just sit back and see what happens. Happy Draft Day Everyone!

Dave South makes Historic Calls
Tonight I was driving in from a long day at work and flipped it over to 1620 AM to see how the Ags were doing. And they beat the crap out of the Baylor Bears 12-7... interesting score huh? Anyways, the thing that stood out to me the most and pretty much stands out to everyone is Dave South calling the game. He's been the "voice of the Aggies" for who knows how long but it's been way too long. The A&M athletic department is working it's butt off to be one of the best in the nation but this fool will hold us back. After the big Louisville win in Kentucky "The Pulse" with Doug Gottlieb on ESPN radio played some of his calls on national radio and it was embarrasing. I had to hope that everyone in the country thought he was a Louisville announcer. So back to what started this rant. One of his calls was on a play with runners on first and second with two outs. The batter hit a shot down the line and it went sort of like this.

Showdown Rundown
Aggie Athletics is really starting to come around an not in just one sport either. The Aggies are closer now than they've ever been to winning the State Farm Lonstar Showdown since it began.  Aggie ace, Amanda Scarborough, pitched a three hit shutout with 7 strikeouts and helped her own cause with an RBI in the third.  Scarborough was dominant over almost the entire lineup giving up two hits to one player, Kacie Gaskin.  With the win the Lady Aggies brought the score of the Lonstar Showdown 7.5 pts for the Ags and 8.5 pts for the sips.

Say It Ain't So Joe
It all started at about 3:00 pm when I saw this post, "Anyone hearing anything about JJ possibly leaving early? " on a members only aggie forum. It was no big deal there have been rumors or questions if he'd head to the NBA all year long and nothing had happened yet.  Then about an hour later Chip Howard on KZNE 1150 non-chalantly says "Joseph Jones has declared for the NBA draft but will not hire an agent." And that was all that he said.  This made me  a little more nervous because weird things have happened this season.

Add Another one to the Schedule
After losing a game in the Texas Tech series to a bone chilling cold front in Lubbock the Aggie Athletic Department has replaced that game with McNeese State on May 15 at 6:30 pm.  The announcement was just given by Louie Belina on KZNE 1150 here in College Station. Gotta love one more game at Olsen.

Double Pleasure

The Aggies started off with double fever against the 2nd place Oklahoma State Cowboys. After two quick outs on a strike out and a caught stealing the Ags started a little 2 out rally with a double from Stouffer and then a double from Colligan and then another double from Luke Anders scoring 2 early runs to to take the early lead.
