Surprise, surprise. The Duke Blue Devils and the Final Four pretty much go hand and hand together the past few years however this time it's not basketball. The Duke lacrosse team, coming off a season in which their entire administration, campus, and community had turned their backs on them and forced them out of playing the season, has come back to advance to the Final Four of lacrosse in Baltimore. And to make it even better for the Dukies out there they did so by beating up on the Tar Heels from UNC. Let me reassure you that I HATE Duke. I hate their fans. I hate Coach Cantspellyourname. I hate the attention that their over-rated basketball team recieves. But I hate when people are given a raw deal by someone looking to benefit from someone elses prosperity even more. And that is exactly what Crystal Gail Mangum, an exotic dancer hired to perform at Duke lacrosse party, tried to do. She decided attempt to take advantage of the upper class social status probably assuming that their parents would rather pay her some money to shut up. And when they didn't DA (interpret as seen fit), Mike Nifong, was sitting there looking at the case that would surely win him his position back in an election year. In the end, after a year of having the three players reputations torn to pieces, what everyone knew was true was confirmed and all of the charges were dropped against the three Duke players.

Now the Duke team has come full circle. They lost their coach after he was forced into resignation but they brought in another top coach from Hofstra. They gained the number one seed in the national tournament. And now the find themselves on the road to Baltimore where they will try to finish off a truly historic season with a national championship. And hopefully when they take that trophy back to Durham they throw one hell of a big party and rub it in the face of all the faculty and staff that called them out for things that never occured.

And just so everyone remembers... Duke still sucks.
